About il Circolo Italiano di Denver

Il Circolo Italiano is a Denver area non-profit organization founded in 1953. Our purpose is to promote Italian culture and language. Il Circolo Italiano di Denver is a 501-c(3) organization registered in the State of Colorado.

At the heart of the organization is the scholarship program. This program began in 1955 and Carnevalesince then has provided financial assistance to numerous Italian and American students.

Currently, Il Circolo Italiano’s focus is on the needs of Colorado students in Colorado schools and universities. At the college level, assistance is provided to students who have a workable knowledge of the Italian language and have been accepted into an approved program of study in Italy. The organization encourages the study of the Italian language at the high school level by giving scholarships to seniors currently taking Italian. They must be accepted by a Colorado college and planning to continue the study of Italian in college. In addition, grants are given to local organizations that encourage the study of Italian art and music.

The scholarship program receives most of its funding from the various club activities, most notably the Italian Card Games activity. The long-term goal is to develop an endowment fund that will guarantee the future of the scholarship program.

The members are the foundation on which the scholarship, cultural and language programs are built. Becoming a member enables you to participate in many social events, meet other interesting people and guarantees the future of our ability to help Colorado students learn about the culture and language of the Italian people.

Remember, the more active you are, the more you get to know the members, the more fun being a member of Il Circolo becomes.
