Scholarship Program

The scholarship program is the heart of il Circolo Italiano di Denver. Click to enlargeThis program began in 1955 and since then has provided financial assistance to numerous Italian and American students. Through our scholarship program we hope to foster greater understanding between the people of the United States and Italy.

Today, il Circolo Italiano’s focus is on the needs of Colorado students in Colorado schools and universities.

  • College — Assistance is provided to students who have a workable knowledge of the Italian language and have been accepted into an approved program of study in Italy. ...More

  • High School — We also encourage the study of the Italian language at the high school level by giving scholarships to seniors currently taking Italian. They must be accepted by a Colorado college and plan to continue the study of Italian in college. ...More

  • Local Organizations — Occasionally, grants are given to local organizations that encourage the study of Italian art and music. Contact our Scholarship Chair for more information.

Currently, the scholarship program receives most of its funding from various club fund-raising activities and from donations. The long-term goal of il Circolo Italiano di Denver is to develop an endowment fund that will guarantee the future of the scholarship program.

La Notizia d'Italia
We recently heard from two of our scholarship students studying in Italy. They are currently taking two classes, one of which teaches them all about Italy and its economic and environmental issues. They are also taking Italian language classes which gives them even more opportunity to use the language. They will be starting three more classes which deal with the history of the European Union, urban development, and a volunteer-based internship.
